Referees have already been selected.
The players always put on a good show and enjoy the event.

this was a great night and I'm proud of my man Aris for a goal and assist.

The South girls may have had an unfair advantage going into the MAC Senior All-Star Soccer Games played Saturday night at Anheuser-Busch Center's Dennis P. Long Field.

With the majority of the squad coming from the Kolping Kicks Under-18 team that finished second earlier this week in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region II Tournament in Saginaw, Mich., the South blew away the North 8-1.
The South boys also won, posting a 3-0 victory in the late match.

“Any time you play, you're playing to win, obviously,'' said Parkway South's Nicole Breece, who scored twice and earned the South MVP award. “I've played with almost all of these girls at one point or another and most of us have been teammates for a number of years. Because we've played together so much, it didn't take us long to click tonight.''

How about 55 seconds?

That's how long it took for the South to grab the lead as Breece headed in a cross from Kolping teammate Ashley Burton (Oakville) for a 1-0 lead.

Erin McGauley converted a pass from Cor Jesu teammate Jenn Miller to make it 2-0 in the 8th minute and Cor Jesu's Emily Bollinger upped the lead to 3-0 when her free kick deflected off a North defender into the net.

Kali Thomas (Summit), Burton, McGauley and Breece helped stretch the South lead to 7-0 before Jennifer Morris (Hazelwood West) broke the shutout with less than five minutes to play. The South's Haley Stewart (Affton) closed out the scoring.

“It's just an honor to play in a game like this, and getting the MVP really caught me by surprise,'' said Breece, a Post-Dispatch All-Metro first-teamer with a scholarship to the University of Illinois. “But getting a chance to play one more high school game with all my friends, that was pretty cool, too.''
In the boys game, South MVP Emir Alihodzic (Mehlville), Dan McCune (Kennedy) and Aris Nukic (Mehlville) scored the goals, while Connor Sparrow (Vianney) and Alec McChesney (Oakville) split time in the shutout.
Justin Bilyeu was the North MVP.

Between games, All-Metro goalkeepers Jessica Perry (Webster Groves) and Sean Clancy (Summit) were presented the Sam Copple Goalkeeper of the Year award, while the $1,000 scholarships from event sponsor UMB Bank went to Lauren Josten (Duchesne) and Stephen Koeller (St. Dominic).

The Steve Krause 12th Man Award for service to soccer went to longtime area coach Les Hager, whose work has helped keep the MAC event going.

Thanks to Webster University who provided the funds that provided SLSG with two new turf fields and the scoreboard along with team shelters for the Denny P Long Field!

Undertaking major renovations of the Soccer Park’s 6,000-seat Dennis P. Long Stadium. Natural grass and an aging scoreboard will make way for artificial turf and a state-of-the-art scoreboard. These projects are being funded through corporate sponsors, donations and strategic partnerships, not fee increases. World Wide Technology, Inc., has committed to donate $1 million to the current field campaign along with other smaller donors.

• SLSG is also nearing an agreement with a major partner that would lead to the funding and conversion of another grass field to turf at the Soccer Park.

Several high school and collegiate soccer teams use the Soccer Park as their home facility, including Missouri Baptist University, Webster University and Valley Park High School. The Saint Louis University women's field hockey team and Gateway Field Hockey also use the facilities.
