there is so much bad information out here. Ask JO who is on both boards how the parking was split. I think you will find the vast majority (if not all) went to SLYSA. and with that much money at stake for parking, springfield I am sure will find a way to collect it.
Any bets?
My understanding from talking to people (of course that in itself should tell you how in accurate my next statement will be) is that the parks department in Springfield says they cannot charge for parking but they are trying to work something out to figure a way to do it.

Here are some interesting points from MYSA board meetings:
http://www.mysa.org/index.php?option=co ... &Itemid=79
2010:
State Cup: We will have parking passes(MYSA). SLYSA will host the 2011 State Cup Competition.
Registration: December 11ths meeting will also include US Youth’s meeting about possibly raising the registration fee one dollar ($1). There is also talk of raising it an additional dollar to pay off a line of credit extended to the association during the time of a lawsuit filed against the association.
9) State Cup: 2012/2013 State Cup will be split. High School Girls will be in the fall. All remaining age groups will be in the spring. Bid will be sent out last fall of 2011. Go to www.mysa.org for more current information. Some dates discussed but none set.
2011: Eastern District
State Cup options were handed out. Everyone wants State Cup in St. Louis(everyone but Steve Pecher that is). Everyone at the table stated that it is ridiculous to hold Cup somewhere other than St. Louis if St. Louis is still representing over 60% of the teams. The age groups that have all St. Louis teams should be allowed to play in St. Louis. Everyone wants Girls Cup to play in late fall and boys in the late spring when there leagues are over. Roger said that it would be cheaper to have Cup here in St. Louis and pay the other teams entry fees to come here. Roger stated that St. Louis teams spent close to 1 million dollars traveling to KC and that this figure included the time off from work. Roger stated that SLYSA will never be the low bid so it will be his approach at their next board meeting that they do not bid on Cup anymore.

November state cup is to be determined. If you believe the post where Roger Uphoff reportedly said SLYSA would not be bidding on it, then it will not be in St Louis. However, with a girls only in the fall, then other venues could host it. SLSG at their park and the soccer park.
Would not have to worry about being rained out.

I think every one is understating SLYSA's parking fee last year by omitting the $8 or so cost to run your vehicle through a car wash..........

Well if movements are born on message boards, this could happen. I certainly hope so, but remain skeptical. As someone else pointed out, it makes too much sense to actually happen.

So.....is it final that state cup for the high school girls for the next soccer year (2012-2013), will be in the fall? How will that work? Do the girls take a week off of school? For those advancing to regionals, do they win state cup in Nov and then don't play in regionals until 7 months later? It doesn't make any sense at all.

Wilber, No check out the MYSA Calendar. Cup for girls is played over two weekends in November.
Yes they play in November and then winners go to Regionals in June.
Why doesn't it make sense. The idea behind is that some Cup teams do not get their players (usually their top players) back until a week before State Cup starts b/c of High School Finals.
Under this format, the girls will get a little break before Regionals, and teams have more time to prepare, and maybe let the girls recover a bit from the high school season which is a grind.
Personally I think it is better to have it in the fall as the teams should usually be peaking around the November time frame.

Cup is in Springfield, yet I only see one Springfield, MO team signed up a week before the deadline.
Will there be anymore Springfield teams signing up this week? I thought Springfield competed very well at Cup. Thought a boys team went to regional's last year and year before last and did well.

Looks one KC and one Springfield team in U13 girls with the rest coming from St. Louis. Maybe we should all carpool with gas prices!
Let the kids play

Multiple age groups have only St. Louis teams entered. Why spend the money and time to travel when we could have all stayed home?
