Name a better left midfielder in the US pool ....He is quicker than he is given credit for...His endurance/pace for 90 minutes is what he has to improve on, and being relatively healthy, he will get a chance to prove this ....He is as talented and creative with the ball as any player to ever come out of STL....no question about it. Didn't say he wasn't a good American player. But to say he would have no problem shutting down Gerrard or Lampard comical. The top players in the world, who are a sight better than Davis, have trouble with these guys so I'm thinking Davis might get schooled. I'm not sure how anyone can make that statement regarding two of the best center midfielders in the world.

I like Brad Davis as a player, but I don't think he brings a whole lot to the table for the national team. He's not big or strong and he's not very quick. He has a hell of a left foot, but I didn't see him stand out in the Gold Cup a couple of years ago and I don't expect him to in January. Again, I like him, I just don't think he's a world class player. I'd rather see guys like Stewart Holden, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Robbie Rogers, etc. out there ahead of Davis. If Beasley can keep playing the way he's been the past month at Rangers, you can't count him out as well.

Not happening. And he isn't going to be central with Bradley, Feilhauber, Edu, Holden and Jermaine Jones in there.

It should be Rodgers, Adu, Torres or a resurrgent DeMarcus Beasley on the left.

Well they don't play in the MLS that's for sure. EPL is just a bit more close to having world class footballers than MLS/Houston. I'd certainly take any of them on the USMNT. Considering they have a host of players to choose from in that role and Brad Davis is being considered by someone to play wide? No comparison warranted.

Davis would be a situational substitute at wide mid down a goal. Say minute 60. He is a 1 dimensional offensive player at best.
Beasley has become a joke and is still being considered which tells you everything you need to know about that spot for the USMNT. It is definitely a weakness. I would be shocked if he became the answer and the starter.

Besides having a great left foot for crosses...Brad is great on free kicks, corners, can hold the ball, great passer, very creative. What else do you want?

Not all players are going to knock the crap out of players or be great in the air. That is the problem with soccer in this country. We have all of these great athletes but they are not great soccer players.

We need a mixture of athletes and soccer players. I will take a creative player any day over a guy that is just athletic. I'm sure kicker1 loves Connor Casey. He's the typical American player that everyone loves. Brad would dribble circles around Casey and the sad thing is Casey will probably be representing the US in the World Cup.

Struggled to finish in season opener, yes they should turn in their stuff now. CBC also struggled to finish in their opener against FHN. I guess they have surrendered too.

A little sensitive, are we? Simply stating a fact. If you claim you should have won 5-0, you won 1-0, that is not a good sign. If someone from CB would have posted the same thing, and I have no idea if they too should have won by a much larger margin, then the same could be said for them. Let the boys play and we'll see how the season progresses.

I've never understood when people use the ole "should have won ___" phrase.

Could have maybe. But, should have? Let's give the other team some credit.
