Anyone that has better pace is a better left midfielder. Good with the ball and in his service, but that alone shouldn't get you to the field in the World Cup. He isn't dynamic enough to make a different.
If he is in that role it's going to be a brutal world cup for the US. He would be asked to stay with the likes of Theo Walcott, James Milner, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Ashley Young and Aaron Lennon. Not happening. And he isn't going to be central with Bradley, Feilhauber, Edu, Holden and Jermaine Jones in there.
It should be Rodgers, Adu, Torres or a resurrgent DeMarcus Beasley on the left.
