There's a lot going on behind the scene with the SLU woman's soccer program, and much of it has to do with soccer. Their coach is way over his head in more ways than one. I think at this point if still alive Moe, Larry and Curly could do a better job! At least we can laugh at their antics!

The ADs at SLU and Mo State don't care because their administrations don't care. Why? Because the men's and women's soccer programs are not as important to the schools as men's basketball. That's where the national tv exposure and revenue potential are.
Soccer is revenue negative at both schools and always will be.
If you come to grips with that reality, then you can begin to appreciate the programs for what they are and what they always will be.

soccer COULD be a revenue sport...or close to it...if:
the team is attractive enough, to enough spectators, and deserves high levels of attendance...there ARE teams, both men and women, in the US with attendance in the 3-4-5,000 range per game.
At SLU: same old, same old.....the programs need a SPARK! Some excitement....and, most importantly, MARKETING the events. Only the "regulars" know when the SLU teams play....and the Post-Dispatch is NOT going to be the cheerleader for SLU soccer.
My pet peeve: stop the "honoring" of teams that won 30-40-50 years ago.....I'm glad they won...but: it's more important to look ahead.... set a goal like: "we'll win the NCAA" and forget about the past.

That is what the Cubs say every year and they still sell out.

Here's hoping Tori completely recovers soon. She's always been one of my favorites, ...intelligent, hard-working, skilled, team oriented.

Awesome game tonight between SLU women and Missouri State! It couldn't have been more exciting! When are either of these coaches ever going to raise the level of their programs? How do they keep their jobs?
Both TC and RB have been coaching for quite awhile and neither program is getting better. Missouri State and SLU both have some very good players but it doesn't seem like either coach will let the players attack.
I heard RB yell out "send it" to one of his players at the end of the game. That tells it all! I don't even let my U10 girls do that.

He only yelled that once? how did they get their 17 shots on goal then?
I think MO St only had 3.

Were they shots or shots on goal? Big difference. Both teams were bad. I blame the coaches for most of the poor play because they are afraid to let the kids play.
As I said before...both SLU and Missouri State have some good players but the coaches are too worried about being "organized" and their team "shape."

I think RB was satisfied with a tie against SLU. Did you notice how many times the Missouri State defenders played the ball back to their keeper? I don't think this is a bad thing to do but every time she kicked it down the field, it went to a SLU player.
