Rasch beat Vardar 8-0
Michalek beat Meaks 4-2 -----Meaks pulled the goalie with one minute to play and the Woodchips scored to go up 2 goals. Very good game to watch.

Semi's are Rasch vs Rooney in game 1. Game 2 is Michalek vs SLSG Arsenal. Both games should be pretty good.

The Rasch Michalek game was very good.[/quote]

Was the score a lot closer than the actual game was ?

What's the word on the u11 girls for the spring league?
Slysa? Tournaments? SG friendly league?
More teams moving to 11v11 or staying 8v8?

Congratulations to the u11 LF team winning the B division of the Holiday Classic. Congratulatuons to WC Arsenal-blue who finished 2nd even though they are a mid level C division team they did post two good wins but lost handly to LF in bracket and the finals.

JB Marine Rasch wins the u11 A group with WC Arsenal-Michalik finishing 2nd.
From what I saw all the u11's had a good time playing over the Holidays.

What tournaments are the U-11 11 v 11 teams playing in this spring? We are going to play in the following:

April- Columbia Pride tournament in Columbia MO
May- Avalon "mothers day"
May- JB Marine

The goal is to play U-11 in the Avalon and JB tournaments if enough teams sign up.

We are looking for one or two field players for the spring session and for the spring tournaments. The team is in the u11 A division. We moved our roster from 8v8 to 11v11 and need a few more players.

Call 636-282-2891 or 314-581-3205 for more information.

Thanks,
WC Arsenal

Any teams getting hit with a bunch of injuries this year? We lost our goalie for the year (broken wrist, skating injury Friday night) and one of our backs was hurt and will be out for at least another couple weeks.

Where Are The Top SLSG U-11 Girls Teams Playing?

Postby pitchpapa » Mon Apr 20, 2009 2:27 pm

I did not see any SLSG teams listed in SLYSA's 11v11 or 8v8 First division this Spring. Where are these teams playing?

It is strange that the top 5-6 U11 teams are either playing up or playing in their own in house league. Not sure why. It seems like there would be plenty of competition if they would all play in the same league. I can see the one team playing up since they always have, but it won't be long before things start leveling out. Growing spurts are starting. Look for those smaller girls with talent to shoot up soon and start developing into very good players. 11-13 are real growing years. The girls who grew early will have a tougher time against girls who catch them is size. Does anybody know what these teams are doing in the Fall ?

Aren't u12s supposed to be 8v8 starting in the Fall? I thought his year was grace period but the strict enforcement begins in Fall '09.

Sort of ironic, that MYSA just released something today concerning this. They are lifting the mandatory roster/rule changes they placed this past summer. On the MYSA.org page, they talk about lifting this rule.

On MYSA's page, they have a pdf of their ruling from this past summer, but they state they will be coming out with a new document for the 09/10 season. I thought it was a confusing read.

BTW, 3 of the SLSG 11v11 teams and JB Meek are playing friendlies and tourneys this spring. The WC Teams and the teams who played 11v11 last fall were also looking/asked to play in a few of these friendlies.

Looking to find out what U12 girls teams are planning on playing 8v8 this spring season. I am not trying to start a debate, just trying to get some info as to whether or not there will be teams for an 8v8 bracket.

WC Arsenal will be putting their newest team, WC Arsenal Galaxy, in at U12 8v8. The other 4 WC Arsenal teams will be playing 11v11 in league.

Hopefully, there will be at least 6 teams to make a division @ SLYSA.
