St. Louis Scott Gallagher joins US Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues
SLSG is pleased to announce their participation in US Club Soccer’s newly formed National Premier Leagues (NPL) for the Fall of 2011. SLSG Metro Boys and SLSG Missouri Boys will both play in the NPL’s Great Lakes Division of the Midwest Conference. The age groups involved are U-13, U-14, U-15, U-16 and U-18.
The National Premier Leagues will consist of multiple conferences throughout the country, and will offer the best platform for long-term player development by providing consistent and meaningful games between the region’s top players. Additionally, the league will provide opportunities for players to be scouted by U.S. Soccer national staff. Finally, winners of each National Premier Leagues conference will qualify for US Club Soccer’s League Champions Cup in July 2012.
The 23 clubs competing in the National Premier Leagues – Midwest Conference include all of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs and the top clubs outside the Development Academy in the Midwest. Participation in the US Club NPL will not affect Academy Clubs participation in the US Development Academy; in fact, the US Club NPL enhances the player development structures of US Development Academy clubs by both providing a vehicle to help prepare younger players for the Academy as well as providing an additional player development path for High School Boys who are not full-time players in the US Development Academy program. The NPL Midwest Conference includes:
Great Lakes Division:
Bavarian SC (WI)
Chicago Fire Academy (IL)
Chicago Magic (IL)
FC Milwaukee Nationals (WI)
FC United (IL)
Blue Valley SC (KS)
Madison 56ers (WI)
MN Thunder Academy (MN)
Rockford Raptors (IL)
St. Louis Scott Gallagher-Metro (IL)
St. Louis Scott Gallagher-Missouri (MO)
Sockers F.C. Chicago (IL)
Sporting KC Juniors (KS)
Erie Division:
Carmel United (IN)
Cincinnati United SC (OH)
Crew Juniors (OH)
Fort Wayne Fever (IN)
Grand Rapids Crew Juniors (MI)
Internationals SC (OH)
Michigan Jaguars FC (MI)
Michigan Wolves SC (MI)
Vardar (MI)
WAZA F.C. (MI)
According to SLSG Missouri Technical Director, Kevin Kalish, “The NPL will take the place of the MRL for our Elite Teams and we look forward to consistently competing with the best clubs in the Midwest. The creation of this league is another huge step forward for player development on the boys’ side as it provides a better competitive and developmental environment in which we can develop our top boys’ talent.â€

Glavin is used to playing on real fields with fair referees. It's still the dominant team in this age group in tournaments, slysa, region II odp so they have the best players. Maybe to much talk at St. Joe's this week jinxed the outcome. Look at Glavin's history and most SG teams can not compete with them. On SG home field and refs maybe explains the outcome. Better fan and player behavior can always make for a better weekend but great weather this weekend. Better luck next time.

SLSG Alumni Will Bruin nets his first goal and makes MLS Team of the Week. MLSsoccer.com is stating that Will is an early Rookie of the Year candidate. Ironically SLSG Alumni Brad Davis had the assist and two more in the game. The three assists were a career high for Davis. The multi-assist game was his 10th in MLS play as a member of the Dynamo and the 13th of his MLS career. - http://on.fb.me/SLSG-Bruin-1stGoal

Goalkick,
Change your password so your son doesn't come on here and make foolish statements after 4-0 drubbings. As much as it pains me to admit it, the SLSG Elite u-14 team is head and shoulders above every team in the u-14 boys age group in this metro area and probably the state of MO. While TG has a quality team, there simply is no comparison. If your team played them 10 times, my money would be on them to win each time the 2 of you played.

Congratulation to 96/97 Boys Argentina U14 team coached by John Gorman for beating the #1 ranked team in Region II with a score of 1-0. Argentina played in the Javanon Cup in Louisville and was the finalist. Argentina beat Cincinnati United SC Cup Crew GOLD, ranked #1 in Region II, #1 in Ohio and #9 in USA. SLSG Argentina also beat Harpeth 97 Black, the #1 ranked team in Tennessee 2-0 to be the finalist in the tournament.
Great job Argentina and SLSG! You beat the best team in the Region!

Congrats on making it to the finals of the Javanon Cup, but I don't think you played the Cup Jr's #1 team. The CUP Crew Jrs Gold (OS) team was playing in the MRL premier division in Indiana this past weekend. If fact, they were playing the Minnesota Thunder Academy team at the same time as your game on Saturday......it would be tough to be in both places at once.
Again, Congrats on being a finalist!

That is a huge upset! U14 Elite won their premier MRL division so maybe there will be a rematch at regionals If TG Celtic can win state cup.
Congrats TG!!!! I know there are some ex-SG players & parents from that team who must be very happy right now.

That's because TH is no longer w/the club. The older teams all were trained by him for years. The 15's age group at SLSG just isn't comparable to the older and younger groups because LF has gobbled up most of the top players in the age group. The 13's and 14's barely had a sniff of TH's training.
I'm probably wrong, but don't you love a conspiracy.
