Featured Session - Dribbling is Overrated: The Wall Pass
This session is presented by the ASET coaching staff. Players resort to dribbling because they do not know what to do with the ball prior to receiving it. As coaches have said repeatedly, nothing moves faster than the ball. In the English Premier League there is a pass made every 2.67 seconds and in Spain's La Liga a pass every 2.75 seconds. As teams are attempting to pass with more frequency, combining with teammates is a natural by-product. Tactical Awareness Situation - Movement of Wide Midfielders and Forwards
The Spanish have a phrase, start on one side and finish on the other. The typical movement of most forwards at the youth and college level consists of one forward checking toward the ball while the other forward runs diagonally in behind.
